First, there is Kashi Benares, also known as Varanasi. A famous Hindu pilgrimage center. An old city with historic locations that recall an ancient time. Buildings that are standing for thousands of years. Bathing Ghats or platforms along in the river are used for washing, laundry, and sometimes, funeral pyres. Definitely a holy city. |

there is Sarnath, where the Buddha
gave His first sermon.
